Note: If you have problems with the hrd.exe program crashing, lower the data rate to 19,200 bps ..
Computer:
Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Ports
Double Click 'Ports' and see what COM port your USB to Serial Adapter is connected (COM X)
Then Double Click COM X
'Port Settings tab' for Com Port: bps=38,400, Data Bits=8,Parity= None, Stop Bits=2, Flow Cont.=None
(Note: You can change com port number in 'advanced' at bottom of port settings page)
HRD:
Select FT-5000 (HRD 5 Build 2777↑ or use 'FT-2000' if earlier ver of HRD 5), COM X (what you found from above, must match), 38,400 bps ( or 19,200 - match radio) .
